MY SERVICES

Frédéric Duclos, captain

for 27 years

I have been a captain since 1996. I “drive” your ship or the one you would like to rent for 1 day, 1 weekend or 3 weeks for your vacation.

I work a lot on board sailboats and catamarans of 12 to 20 m long, powerboats of 10 to 16 m and sometimes on-board motor-yachts of less than 25 m. None of these ships belong to me.

My clients are individuals: owners or renters.

My partners are yachting and boating professionals: charter company, agency, shipyard and craftsman.

I work in the maritime company that I created and am in constant contact with maritime administration and authorities to be aware of the regulations and their developments, which guarantees you that I operate perfectly in good standing whatever your boat.

For you, owner, charterer, boating professional, this is essential for insurance to cover you... What’s more, I am able to provide you with a lot of advice that goes well beyond the sole scope of operating / maneuvering a boat.

Your time is precious, make your vacation a success.

Tailor-made cruise: what  you want?

Rest and enjoy: crystal-clear sea, turquoise water, wild cove, relaxing, aperitif with friends, swimming, beach, etc.

You want to learn, participate: maneuver, steer, moor, navigate safely.

You want to take charge of a boat and successful handling: I will gently show you how seamen do it! I love transmitting, it’s part of the job.

All my services result in a detailed contract and an invoice.

Move your boat

Moving (delivering) a boat by a professional crew requires that it be in perfect condition: rigging, mooring, rudder, engines, propellers, spare parts, telecommunications, etc. The list is long! Its preparation can last a few days and require intervention of specialists. I will carry out the essential tests and checks for you before setting sail.

This type of professional navigation practiced according to the rules of the art is a demanding service and the clients who choose to use my services all expect the same thing:

  • guarantees,

  • relationship of trust,

 • honesty and being outspoken.

It is the responsibility of a captain to preserve the interests of his shipowner.

All my services result in a detailed contract and an invoice.

My professional qualifications

Diplomas obtained at the Merchant Navy School only become valid after 365 days of work on board a ship and then become certificates. 365 days of work is the equivalent of 26 years for a boater who sails 2 weeks a year in the summer.

Choosing to place a certified captain on board your ship offers you the guarantee of real know-how controlled by the State, and of putting all the chances on your side to succeed in your cruises.

Brevet Patron Plaisance Voile, BPPV.

This is the old sailing yacht captain's certificate created in 1991, and which has no longer been valid since 2006.

Master 200 Sailing

This is the last sailing ship captain’s certificate, mine is “unlimited” in distance and has no restrictions.

Master 200 Yacht

It allows you to be captain on board motor vessels for private use of less than approximately 30 m in length and which sail less than 60 nautical miles from the shore.

Master 200

It allows you to be captain on commercial motor vessels of less than approximately 30 m in length and which sail less than 20 nautical miles from the shore.

General Radio Operator Certificate

It allows you to be responsible and control telecommunications on board the ship within the framework of the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS).

Medical Care Training (level III)

This is the most advanced training in terms of first aid and treatment of medical emergencies at sea. It makes you the “eye and hand of the doctor” with whom the captain can establish radio contact 24 hours a day.

Electronic Chart and Information Display Systems (ECDIS)

It is a professional version chart plotter which is used on larger cargo ships and some motor-yachts. Here, we learn the techniques and practices of electronic navigation from an unlimited Master Mariner.

Basic Safety Training Certificate

It is a certificate common to all seamen in the world. It was reformed in 2015 following the Concordia disaster. We are trained in firefighting by firefighters, procedures for abandoning ship and the use of survival equipment.

Choose safety and tranquility with a certified and experienced captain.
